Female Himba do not shower, instead using smoke from smoldering herbs, plants, and aromatic resins to cleanse and perfume themselves. They also cover themselves in otjize, a mixture of butter fat and ochre, giving their skins a reddish tinge. They also elaborately plait their hair and include the ochre.
